Cairo – Alexandria - Cairo Early morning after breakfast at 07:00 transfer by A/C vehicle on private basis to Alexandria (Cairo/Alexandria 225 K.M around 02:30 h.) Full day visits of Catacomb, Pompey’s’ Pillar, view of Citadel of Qait bay from outside. Post sightseeing transfer back to Cairo by 1800 hrs. Overnight in Cairo (B)
Cairo: Sightseeing After breakfast at 10:00 prepare for half day visit of Abu Serga Church, Hanging Church & Synagogue Ben Ezra. Abu Serga Church: The church was named after Saints Sergius and Bacchus who served as soldiers in the Roman Army and were both martyred in Syria for their Christian beliefs. Their relics are now kept in the church. To make it easier for people to pronounce, the names of the two saints were combined and the church was named “Abu Serga” as a short form and a more memorable name. Hanging Church: It is called the Hanging Church because it was built on the southern gate of the Roman Fortress. The Hanging Church is a unique church and has a wooden roof in the shape of Noah’s ark. From the 7th century to the 13th century, the Hanging Church served as the residence of the Coptic Patriarch. Synagogue Ben Ezra: Ben Ezra Synagogue is the oldest Jewish temple in Cairo. The 19th-century discovery a huge cache of documents, the synagogue’s treasury, which recorded the history and transactions of Cairo’s Jewish community. Overnight in Cairo (B)
